Finance Analyst


Milton Keynes or Home-based with occasional travel to the Milton Keynes Office


An opportunity has arisen to work within the Finance team.
The role will require close partnership with the business to manage all live contracts for Graphnet Health and Docobo Limited. Contract Management involves accurate interpretation of contract structure, revenue recognition policies and an experience of forecasting to support the business’ revised monthly forecast projections. The monthly reporting requires preparation of the monthly management accounts and help providing any analytical support to support the business’s overall planning and strategic view.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years finance experience and be a self-starter who can work independently and in team environments.

The role:

Key responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Sales team to monitor and report on new orders received.
  • Working closely with the Delivery Team to record and review the contract deliverables to generate associated billing and revenue for the individual contracts, with close business involvement to close and resolve issues.
  • Responsible for the P&L preparation of the contract monthly actuals, forecasting and annual budgets.
  • Understanding the cost of sales element of all contract revenue for monthly reporting and forecasting.
  • Preparation and review of related Balance Sheet account reconciliations and investigation and correction of errors.
  • Review of monthly actuals against defined targets including formal variance analysis.
  • Input into the monthly financial board pack including review and commentary.
  • Working closely with the Sales team to understand future opportunities and the Delivery team on contract delivery for deriving the forecast.

Other responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the on-going development of recording our finance contracts.
  • Production of ad hoc management reports and involvement in projects as they arise.
  • Holiday cover for other areas of Finance if needed.

Experience and skills:


  • The post holder ideally must have knowledge / experience of the below:
  • 3+ years finance experience, preferably in Management Accounts
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA studier (will consider excellent history of Management Accounting experience)

Computer Skills:

  • High level of proficiency (Excel), manage existing spreadsheets and improve them, as necessary.
  • Overall good technical proficiency and ability to adapt skills to new applications.
  • Experience of Data manipulation / modelling using spreadsheets.
  • The knowledge and use of PowerPoint and Access would also be advantageous.

Personal Attributes

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable in presenting financial information to non-financial managers. An articulate, operationally focused mind-set would be ideal.
  • Systems implementation experience is advantageous but the desire to embrace new methodologies and continuously seek to improve is of a higher importance.
  • Strong presentation skills both written and verbal.
  • Detail oriented while able to understand and communicate the big picture.
  • An ability to manage competing priorities in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Hands on team player within the Finance team and wider organisation.
  • Pro-activeness and confidence in making decisions.
