Population Health Analytics Product Owner

Department: Product Management (Population Health)
Location: Milton Keynes/Homebased - with the expectation to attend Graphnet Group office sites at least once per month, or as and when required for team collaboration days.

Overview:

Graphnet is software house providing clinical software solutions to the healthcare sector and is seeking a permanent Product Owner within the Population Health Analytics Team. The Population Health function is committed to improving the health of the United Kingdom via the use of innovative, integrated analytics as decision support for both clinicians and managers. The role will collaborate closely with all internal and customer stakeholders to build market leading Population Health solutions. The Population Health Analytics Team works closely with the Shared Care Records, Remote Monitoring and Personal Health Record development teams following an agile development methodology. 
 
Our analytical solutions involve direct care decision support and case finding / monitoring programmes such as virtual wards and care at home. The Population health analytics team works at the forefront of the exciting transformation agenda within health and care, delivering population analytics solutions that allow health and care organisations to plan health and care services based on the true needs of their populations. 
 
Our team are highly experienced and passionate about Population Health; using technology to help improve the health and care of the nation. This role provides the successful candidate the chance to be involved in Population Health Analytics programmes covering 16 million of the UK population.  
 
The Product Owner has responsibility, as part of the wider Product Management team, of delivering our product roadmap to customers in alignment with our business strategy and customer priorities. This involves collaborating with internal and customer stakeholders to scope new content for our product, with our leadership to understand priorities, our technical teams to schedule and enable production of that content; and our delivery and change management teams to make product increments available to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating Features and User Stories that are ‘ready to go’ for our Developers
  • Working alongside Product Management and other Product teams in the PI Planning and Monitoring process
  • Working alongside Product Management and Scrum masters in Sprint Planning and Backlog refinement, including prioritization
  • Collaborating with scrum masters, developers, customers and other internal teams to remove any barriers to completion and delivery of development work
  • Lead the organisation and delivery of change, collaborating with our Consultants, Customers and our Change Management teams
  • Provide leadership in facilitating internal teams to plan, schedule and deliver releases including the maintenance of release plans, assessment of risk and impact, and any preparatory material for releases such as test plans
  • Support the delivery of service requests where necessarily, including liaison with delivery teams and the creation of RFCs
  • Collaborate with the wider business in the delivery of cross product functionality and projects
  • Monitor business and operational KPIs for example, usage stats, quality indicators and service KPIs
  • Alongside the Product Manager, ownership of product documentation
  • Manage the end-to-end process of enhancement requests from our customers including the creation of estimates, in collaboration with our Account Managers and Consultants
  • Collaborate with Dev Escalation Team Lead to support any Service Improvement initiatives

Education & Experience:

Experience (Required):

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage, influence, negotiate and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders with often conflicting priorities and requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capability to keep track of multiple streams of often complex work 
  • Knowledge of and experience within a technical services/development organisation, working in collaboration with technical and non-technical teams in this environment
  • Requirements gathering – gathering and documenting requirements and communicating them to technical teams and stakeholders.
  • The production and maintenance of internal product, technical and customer facing documentation
  • Risk and change management concepts
  • Knowledge of the Jira or similar system including creating, linking and assigning tickets, using filters to identify and manage related groups of tickets, and the management of data quality in our Jira Projects
  • Knowledge of Confluence or similar document management systems
  • An understanding of the software development lifecycle - how products are conceptualised, developed and delivered
  • Experience of working with Agile Methodologies, and a resulting through practical knowledge of Agile terms and practices
  • Experience of working with customers and internal stakeholders to design analytics applications such as dashboards, data processes and reports.

Experience (Desirable):

  • Experience of working with or in a Data Platform or Analytics development team
  • Experience of Population Health Analytics such as risk stratification and demand modelling.  
  • Experience of remote working in a geographically dispersed team 
  • Experience of working with any of Microsoft Azure services, Microsoft Fabric, Data Lakehouse, Data
  • Science/Machine Learning/AI, Microsoft Power BI
  • An understanding of data architecture terms and principles
  • Working in a professional development environment using source control, agile development, coding standards and formal QA processes 
  • Experience of planning for non-functional requirements of software development and services, such as conforming to legislative requirements e.g. Data Protection/IG

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in related subject (desirable)
