The Surrey Care Record: What it is, how it works and how it can help you deliver safer patient care

24th March 2021, 12:00 to 13:30

About this event

The Surrey Care Record is starting to change how we deliver care. It joins up medical records and gives frontline health and care staff access to the information they need, when they need it. As well as improving care for our patients, it also helps join information up so people only have to tell their story once.

With so many benefits, this lunch and learn is aimed at anyone who has access to the Surrey Care Record – from social workers and GPs to A&E nurses and everyone in-between. We also welcome other frontline colleagues who will be getting started soon and are keen to know more.

This lunch and learn is a joint event between NHS Surrey Heartlands Clinical Commissioning Group and Graphnet Health. It will focus on what the Surrey Care Record is, how it works, the benefits to patients and staff and how you can start using it to help us improve care across Surrey Heartlands.

Please note that if you register to attend your data may be accessed by both organisations to support event planning.

This interactive session will include:

  • Welcome and overview of the Surrey Care Record – what it does and why it is changing how we work for the better, led by Katherine Church, Chief Digital Officer for Surrey Heartlands Health and Care Partnership
  • A demo of the system – what it looks like and how it works, including key features
  • Focus on clinical and patient benefits – an interactive session where we will hear real life examples of how the SCR is improving care on the frontline
  • Next steps – our plans for the future and where you can find out more

We will be joined by key speakers:

  • Katherine Church – Chief Digital Officer | Surrey County Council
  • Sharon Hanley – Operational Lead | Surrey Heartlands CCG
  • Dr Amir Hassan – Clinical Director for Emergency Department | Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust
  • Penny Clarke – Business Systems Senior Analyst | Health, Wellbeing & Adult Social Care | Surrey County Council
