‘Protecting the NHS’ is at the heart of the government’s response to the pandemic, but it brings with it  some challenges that cannot be resolved without a rapid transformation of healthcare models and care pathways. The NHS was already facing mounting pressures due to an aging and growing population, chronic staff shortages and a steady reduction of general and acute hospital beds. The pandemic exacerbated these issues, and the quality and accessibility of healthcare within the UK become a severe concern for us all.

Fortunately, determined pioneers within the NHS have been embracing remote monitoring solutions to implement revolutionised models of care that can combat these challenges. iCAN (Integrated Care Across Northamptonshire) have successfully been delivering an innovative virtual/ remotely managed hub to support care homes and long-term condition patients.
