Frimley and Northamptonshire win four accolades for digitally led transformation programmes at HSJ Digital Awards

23 June 2023

Frimley Health and Care Integrated Care System and Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust have been recognised for their outstanding contribution to healthcare at the first HSJ Digital Awards, picking up four national accolades between them. The projects were based on Graphnet’s CareCentric population health and Docobo remote monitoring solutions.

The awards celebrate the power of digital products, projects and services to transform care delivery, enhance efficiency, and improve patient outcomes. An impressive 314 entries were received for the HSJ Digital Awards 2023, with 164 projects and individuals making it to the final shortlist (from across 120 organisations).

Awards for Graphnet partners were:

  • Digital Innovator of the Year. Kumar Medical Centre and Frimley ICB for Reducing Health Inequalities in Slough. Dr. Priya Kumar accepted the award, following on from being awarded a British Empire Medal in the King’s Birthday Honours earlier this month, for services to health improvement in South East England.
  • Improving out of Hospital Care through Digital. Docobo was part of a team made up of Integrated Care Northamptonshire, health and social care partners West Northamptonshire Council, North Northamptonshire Council, and Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This was for the collaborative project ‘Remote Monitoring in the community’, which has been developed to support people in care homes and in the community as part of the Integrated Care Northamptonshire’s Ageing Well programme.
  • Reducing Health Inequalities through Digital. Highly commended. Frimley Health and Care ICS for Reducing Health Inequalities in Slough.
  • Generating Impact in Population Health through Digital. Highly commended. Frimley Health and Care ICS for Reducing Health Inequalities in Slough.

The Frimley population health programme had several other projects shortlisted at the Awards, including Digital Innovation in Emergency Departments: Redirecting Care with Connected Care Solutions (in the Digital Innovator of the Year category); and Digitally Led Hypertension Care (in both the Optimising Clinical Pathways Through Digital and Reducing Health Inequalities through Digital categories).

The scope and scale of the nominations and awards at Frimley demonstrate the value of its Connected Care Population Health programme and the way that it has become first port of call for many transformation projects across the ICS.

Graphnet Health Executive Chairman, Ian Denley said: “Population health and remote monitoring are central to the NHS’s efforts to transform itself and we are delighted that these systems are having such a high impact on both efficiency and patient care.  Gaining national recognition for the Frimley and Northamptonshire projects, against such high-quality nominees in each category, validates the work we are doing with our NHS, social care and ICS partners it’s a fantastic boost for the Graphnet and NHS teams, who work tirelessly to deliver the technology behind these fantastic projects.”

The prestigious awards ceremony took place at Manchester Central on 22 June 2023.
