Population Health QA Lead

The Population Analytics Quality Assurance Lead will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the business and within our NHS and Care customer base to develop and operationally lead our QA and Solution Assurance capability. A reputation for quality is vital within our market and continuing to improve quality within our solutions will be the primary purpose of this role. We want someone who thinks differently, innovates and is willing to challenge and transform.


Ideally, you will have a background in the use of healthcare data with experience of using visualisation products. A deep understanding of quality and validation is an essential. We expect the post holder to be hands on, so a familiarity with interrogating data with Azure SQL and Power BI is essential. The successful candidate will establish a robust framework for quality in our solution and work with us to reiterate a culture of continuous improvement.

Main responsibilities

  • Take ownership and develop the Population Health Quality and Solution Assurance function
  • Contribute to building and maintaining an effective, automated data validation solution for live customer environments
  • Perform Risk assessments of Population Health changes and design a response to manage/mitigate risk
  • Perform vulnerability analysis of the Population Health solution, including Root Cause Analysis of defects, and incorporate findings into a Solution Assurance Strategy.
  • Collaborate with our Development and Product Management teams around the testing aspects of Sprint, PI and Release Planning
  • Collaborate with the Population Health leadership team for the resourcing and scheduling of quality assurance related work
  • Provide a mechanism for visibility and sharing of Quality related metrics for stakeholders, including customers
  • Develop and execute test cases and workflow scenarios, record outcome of tests, escalate of defects and identify opportunities for product improvement
  • Design and Perform regression testing against identified high risk, high value and vulnerable parts of the solution
  • Collaborate with the wider population leadership team to maintain an ethos of continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with the other Quality Assurance teams in Graphnet as part of any business wide QA initiatives
  • Assist in the development and implementation of processes, protocols and procedures to improve the quality of our software and customer deliverables

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in related subject (desirable).

Preferred skills & experience

  • Understanding and practical experience of using data quality validation techniques and QA processes
  • A working experience of healthcare data and data flows
  • Experience diagnosing, reporting, tracking and resolving data quality and software issues
  • Experience with databases, with hands on knowledge of SQL
  • Experience with data analysis and business intelligence/data visualisation software, Power BI (or similar)
  • Experience developing test scripts and test cases both automated and manual
  • Experience of working within a team of software testers and data analysts in a software development environment
  • Ability to work in a structured environment e.g. with defined test cases and an aptitude to think more widely about the context of such work and broader interdependencies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Experience of Risk Assessment, Root Cause Analysis and Vulnerability Analysis
  • An understanding of any of Primary Care data, healthcare coding systems, and risk stratification systems in HealthCare, especially Population Health

Desirable skills & experience

  • Knowledge of the end to end software development life cycle
  • Experience of working with an Agile Scrum team
  • Experience of working with Notebooks
  • Experience using a professional Test Management system e.g. Quality Centre, Quality Manager, Jira
  • Having worked within a Data Quality or QA role within a data centric business
  • The production of automated test routines
