Our Stories

Graphnet Health was formed 26 years ago and we are part of the of the System C and Graphnet Care Alliance.  We have been awarded outstanding Best Companies accreditation for workplace engagement.  The Best Companies programme is a recognised standard which assesses and awards organisations with high levels of employee engagement.

Here, some of our team explain what it’s really like to work at Graphnet and why we are a best company...

The culture here is very un-hierarchical and feels very much like a family, with everyone striving to meet the same aim.  Another brilliant aspect of working here is how flexible it is to our personal lives and making sure work fits in around family life. I genuinely can’t imagine working somewhere as special as Graphnet is.

Every day is varied, from high level whole-system propositions down to niche module and app use-cases which need further discovery work alongside our designers and developers. Working here gives me the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects with great teams made up of enthusiastic, helpful and friendly individuals.

I have been at Graphnet for just over two years now and initially joined as a IT graduate and currently working as a DevOps engineer, which demonstrates the opportunities for progression within Graphnet.

Working within DevOps there's always interesting technologies to learn and get your hands dirty with, such as Azure alongside Kubernetes, Terraform and AKS. Every week is different which keeps me on my toes. I thoroughly enjoy my time at Graphnet and that is in most part due to the team that I work with due to the support we give each other and the friendly atmosphere.

I've been working for Graphnet for just over two years. I love my role as a population health consultant which I feel has given me the opportunity to do the most innovative, interesting and fulfilling work of my career.

I've supported the analytics for the Liverpool Covid testing pilot, the national events research programme on Merseyside (supporting club night and gigs happen!) as well as more targeted population analytics programmes within primary care. I love the culture of Graphnet. There is a strong drive to do the best for health and social care and it really feeds my social conscience. Having three young children, I've been given the opportunity to work flexibly which gives me a better balance.

Over the last four years I have always worked with people across different roles in the company to ensure we deliver to our customer base. The company has grown at such a rapid rate which has led to numerous changes in the product set, internal process and resources.

I don’t seem to have many normal days, I can be talking with a customer, working with internal management, attending customer board meetings and managing milestones with our project managers. My team has recently grown to meet the current and future demands as the health and social care landscape continues to rapidly change and evolve. My hopes for the company are to continue to grow, support the NHS, support the user base and have an input into improved patient care. Working here at Graphnet provides a good level of flexible working, particularly with the recent challenges of working from home during the pandemic. This has provided a balance for employees within the company.

Every day presents rewards and challenges, but I always try to keep in mind the part that Graphnet and CareCentric play in integrating care records from multiple health and social care solutions, so health & care professionals can provide better care to patients.

I feel incredibly proud to be part of the great team at Graphnet and have benefited from the support the company has provided me since becoming a member of the team. It’s great to part of the Graphnet family.

Product support engineer

I have been at Graphnet for six years and my role as product support engineer is so varied, there isn’t really a typical day. Sometimes I’ll be working with development on how we integrate new features, technology and support platforms, other times liaising with the programmes team on project milestones or I can be working with third parties or customers directly.

Sometimes I’ll be working with development on how we integrate new features, technology and support platforms, other times liaising with the programmes team on project milestones or I can be working with third parties or customers directly.

I really hope that Graphnet, CareCentric and the Care Alliance products continue to grow and help the NHS make shared records and population health solutions as ubiquitous in the industry as internet banking or social media. One of the main reasons I enjoy working here is being in an IT focussed role where you feel like you are making a direct and tangible difference to people’s lives and wellbeing.

I am currently the service delivery executive for the North and Midlands areas covering Cheshire and Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Nottingham. I have worked at Graphnet for the past 14 years and no two days are the same.

My role mainly involves ensuring that our customers are getting the service and support that they are contracted to receive as well as being involved in the delivery of regular upgrades, SLA monitoring and reporting, on-going projects, system enhancements, and generally being the first point of contact for customers. I have formed good working relationships and some great friendships over my years working here which is important to me as our team is an established group of long-serving employees with a wealth of customer experience. This enables us to share with our customers what is being achieved elsewhere and that can assist with maximising business service and potential development opportunities. I’m proud to be part of the significant expansion and success seen at Graphnet over the recent years and am grateful of the appreciation the company shows in recognition of hard work, flexible working and the part we play in its achievements.

I am a business analyst and have worked at Graphnet for the past three and a half years. My role is based within the product management team and often varies across different aspects of the CareCentric product.

My main responsibility is taking ownership of the Graphnet customer library, this covers all aspects such as creating and updating user guides, data feed specifications, tech notes and publishing/maintaining release notes. I also chair the Feature Request Board weekly where we assess all requests for product enhancements/changes raised by customers and other stakeholders. One of my favourite things about working here is presenting our work at our National User Groups, getting to show and talk to our customers face to face (or virtually currently) is both rewarding and crucial to understand our customer needs and objectives.

I really enjoy working for Graphnet for many reasons, one being the fact the company has a family feel. It is extremely pleasant to work with such friendly people who recognise the hard work and effort that I contribute.

I am not sure there is such a thing as a normal day, every day is different. My team and the entire workforce is right behind delivering the best service to our customers and the thing that always gives me goosebumps is when we get an email or hear from a customer that CareCentric has played a part in saving a patient’s life. Our team and staff ethos is about working together to do the right thing, we are all patients within a service that is under increased demand at the moment, so if we can help the NHS in any way to relieve some of that pressures through our technology and solutions, then we are doing “the right thing.”

I’ve worked for the System C and Graphnet Care Alliance for 17 years. In my current role as product director - population health, I have spent the last three and a half years building an entirely new analytics solution and an amazingly talented team from scratch.

The population health analytics team are fully remote and scattered across the UK. One of the huge benefits this brings is the ability to be flexible, I do school drop offs every day and it’s just normal to work around it. My team are an incredible talented hardworking bunch who have been working 110%, rapidly implementing technology tools to help the NHS and Public Health handle the pandemic.

I’ve always had a firm belief that analytics can really help understand and contribute to improving patient care. It’s brilliant that the NHS, Public Health and research teams are now using the platform we’ve built to do just that. Graphnet is all about team work, not politics, we are invested in our people and share success.

What gets me out of bed every day? Working to help improve the health of the UK.

I have been a part of the Graphnet family for over five years. I began my journey as a product specialist and later progressed into project management, where I continued to work closely with our customers at a management level to successfully deploy CareCentric within the organisations involved.

The opportunities within Graphnet have made a positive impact on my career, and have enabled me to further develop my knowledge and skills with support from various key stakeholders. I thoroughly enjoy playing such an important part of this amazing work family, where together we improve patient care and make a difference in the NHS who are constantly under pressure, particularly in the current climate. I truly appreciate working with such friendly individuals, whom recognise the hard work and effort that I bring. I simply love the team spirit we have in Graphnet and to those who know me I always say ‘team work makes the dream work!’

On a more employee centric side, Graphnet offer social away days (pre-Covid) and several other team opportunities (for example quiz nights over Teams) to ‘break the ice’ and form important work relationships. The benefit package is also a win win for me. I am a new mum and Graphnet has allowed flexible working, offered generous leave and bonuses that have gone a long way.

No one day has been the same in my 14 years at Graphnet,a normal day for me is about making sure we have happy customers and successful outcomes for all. As SIRO & SRO it is all about making sure we have safe, rapid and repeatable deployments of products and services to support front-line care services across the entire customer base, this covers all of our product sets across the board. I could not be more proud of what the company and my team have achieved, I want to ensure that the brilliant developments, deployments and innovation get rolled out as far as possible and above all to retain the family feel we all enjoy so much here.
