CareCentric Embedded – Single Sign On (SSO) gives users direct access to a patient’s medical records from within their own existing IT system. It provides direct and secure access to the up-to-date patient information held in CareCentric - within patient context and without having to log on again.
By providing more complete information, and reducing the time spent casting around for information, CareCentric delivers important benefits both in terms of the quality of care provided, patient safety and the efficiency of services.
CareCentric Embedded SSO is a published integration framework that can be used by software developers to embed CareCentric with a minimum of effort into any local application with appropriate security and confidentiality access facilities. Many embedded variants are already available including leading systems such as EMIS Web, Vision, Adastra and a number of acute PAS and clinical systems.
CareCentric Embedded SSO, can help users in many care settings - simply by pressing the ‘shared record’ key from within their local systems.
A&E - Emergency department staff can view vital information to assist with diagnosis and treatment, including views of medications history and care episodes from GP and community systems. Safeguarding data or social care information can be checked for vulnerable children and adults
GP practices - Doctors can view detailed care record information from acute, A&E and community services to understand fully the treatment provided to their patients and to plan on-going care
Out of hours services - Clinicians can see vital patient information such as recent treatments and medications, regardless of whether that information was recorded in a GP or Acute or Community setting
Social services: Record access beyond the central child health teams to additional authorised professionals at their point of work, such as health visitors. The CareCentric platform manages interfacing with third party systems such as London’s eRedbook, giving parents an electronic record to help them manage their child’s early years. Within a few hours of being requested by the Grenfell Tower action team, the CHIS produced a full list of every child who had been resident in the previous six months.
