Cloud Based Healthcare Software

CareCentric in the Cloud

Our CareCentric solution is cloud hosted, managed, scalable, resilient, and secure.  Our CareCentric data is processed in the Microsoft Azure cloud computing platform, on UK-based servers.

Cloud hosting offers five main benefits to CareCentric customers: security, scalability, resilience, productivity and performance.

Security

Data is sent to Highway using secure protocols (HTTPS/FTPS). Data is hosted in the Microsoft Azure cloud computing platform, on UK based servers. Azure meets a broad set of international and industry-specific compliance standards, such as ISO/IEC 27001/27002:2013, HIPAA and FedRAMP.

Microsoft is the only cloud provider to adhere to the ISO/IEC 27018 code of practice, covering the processing of personal information by cloud service providers

Scalability

One major benefit of cloud computing services is the ability to scale according to demand, elastically. That means delivering the right amount of IT resources— e.g. more or less computing power, storage, bandwidth—right when it’s needed.

Resilience

Cloud computing makes data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity easier as data can be mirrored at multiple sites on Microsoft’s Azure network.

Productivity

On-site datacentres typically require a lot of “racking and stacking” hardware set up, software patching, and other time-consuming IT management tasks. Cloud computing removes the administrative and maintenance burden associated with on-site hosting, so IT teams can spend time on achieving more important business goals.

Performance

Microsoft Azure cloud computing services runs on a worldwide network of secure datacentres, which are regularly upgraded to the latest generation of fast and efficient computing hardware. This offers several benefits over a single corporate datacentre, including reduced network latency for applications and greater economies of scale

Key benefits for this include:

  • Quicker creation of environments in the cloud, no servers need to be ordered, delivered and built ready for a CareCentric install
  • Logistics of any on site planning taken away e.g. impact on electrics, air conditioning, space to house the server
  • A lot of time is saved
  • CareCentric will be managed by Graphnet without the need for the customer to worry about performance or disk space
  • System management and maintenance will be easier e.g. upgrades
  • Accessing CareCentric from within the cloud is easier. Just like local hosting, the user will need to connect via a URL to log into the system
